New school will be easier to spot once old one comes down Friday

The past will be swept away and the future simultaneously unveiled at St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School on Friday.

A 70-year-old building on Sutherland Avenue that the school has outgrown will be knocked down in a demolition job set to start at 1 p.m.

After the dust clears, onlookers will have their first good look at the new $4.8-million St. Joseph’s school, built immediately behind the old one and opened last year.
