School building drive endorsed by NHLer

St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School is spotlighting its most famous alumnus in its fundraising effort to build a new school.

National Hockey League defenceman Josh Gorges is featured in a video testimonial waxing lyrical about his time at the Kelowna elementary school from 1989 to 1997.

“Josh is a real hometown hero who enjoyed his time at St. Joe’s, so we just had to involve him,” said Holly Routley, co-ordinator of the Masterpiece campaign raising money to build a new $4.8-million elementary school at 839 Sutherland Ave.
